Christmas Travels

We had a great Christmas vacation visiting both our families in Colorado and Arizona.

Colorado was snowy (a white Christmas!) and to our surprise so was the desert land of Arizona.
We are so thankful to see so much family during our first Christmas together as Mr. & Mrs. Schilling.

And we got to visit with many of our friends from back home for New Years. The NYE game night drove us to buying our own bananagrams! Who knows we might start game nights out in New Mexico!

Here is our Christmas photo in the Mountains of New Mexico
(I'm recently not a blonde - Jen)

While in CO we took a quick trip to the Garden of the Gods. It was stunning!
John took a whole bunch of photos, we've yet to really look at but I'm sure they're spectacular!

We went sledding! Oh my goodness it was so much fun. We're planning on going skiing in Santa Fe this year. According to the husband his long term goal in our marriage is to convert me to an adrenaline junkie. He has a ways to go!

Here's me in the slightly panicked moment before sliding down the hill, I was turning to ask if I was doing it right!

Our New Years Day was wonderful. We got to have our traditional meal full of black eyed peas (for a prosperous New Year, of course).  John does not like the conflicted identity pea/bean but he ate one for me. We're praying for a year of spiritual growth, coming to closer to God and glorifying him in our lives.

This beautiful sunrise met us on the I-10 to NM

And oh these mountains! Arizona skies are just beautiful!

That's us for now! Looking forward to all that 2015 has to offer!
